We have an amazing opportunity for an Industrial Relations Coordinator. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

IR coordinator will be required to display a wide range of knowledge, skill and expertise within the area of employment law. The Coordinator will be expected to assist the business nationally with any IR related queries.

You Bring:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an IR/ HR environment
  • Knowledge of Labour Legislation (EE Act, BCEA, Labour Relations)
  • Valid Driver’s License
A Bonus To Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant qualification

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

Understand a wide range of employment law issues and assist in the provision of complex analysis of issues to a matter. E.g.: BCEA, LRA

IR Functions

  • Scheduling of hearings nationally. To ensure that dates and times are confirmed, and all is informed.
  • Follow up on outcome of hearings with external service provider and the relevant manager
  • Drafting of Mitigating and Aggravation circumstances.
  • Drafting disciplinary actions nationally via centralized IR portal (vw, ww, fww, performance counselling documentation). Ensure that these are in line with the disciplinary code and consistently applied
  • Prepare detailed written advice and reports on complex issues and /or escalate to Senior IR if and when required.
  • Provide advice to all line management on disciplinary queries
  • Draft relevant required IR documents, following up on issued documents, attach signed documents and record information on People system. Ensure that the people system is set up to cater for the specific disciplinary actions being recorded and is kept updated.
  • Reporting on disciplinary stats on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Maintain good support relationships with Line Managers/Branch Managers/ Team Leaders
  • Operate independently within scope of authority
  • Ensure continuous audits and reporting on all information – including HR and IR system reporting
  • Ensure that weekly call is made to National CCMA branches to ensure that IR calendar is updated regarding Conciliations/ Arbitration referrals and Set downs scheduled accordingly with Employers Association (Representative)
  • Managing the IR Inbox and ensuring that all is attended to in timeous and professional fashion (Monitoring the IR Assistants work presented to ensure that correct action and info is supplied to relevant managers)
  • Providing constant advise and support to all line managers and HRCs in relation to IR Matters –
  • Nationwide
  • Auditing the People system to ensure that all IR related aspects are up to date and in order for reporting purposes.
  • Tracking signed copies of all warnings drafted and reporting on finalized and unfinalized cases.
  • Checking of all warnings drafted by all HRC’s daily to ensure that correct charges are applied
  • Ensuring that all disciplinary practices are applied fairly in accordance with our code for all regions
