We have an amazing opportunity for a Camera Operator. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

To operate camera equipment under the direction of the OB (Outside Broadcast) Director in order to televise horse racing events both locally and internationally. The Camera Operator ensures high-quality video coverage of races, supports the production team, and maintains technical equipment in good working order

You Bring:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Diploma in TV Production, Video Technology, or related field.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in camera operation and filming.


What You’ll do for The Brand:

  • Rig camera equipment prior to race events and live broadcasts.
  • Operate camera during live race meetings, ensuring high-quality footage aligned with the OB Director’s instructions.
  • Report any technical faults or equipment issues to the Broadcast Engineer immediately.
  • Maintain care and responsibility for camera equipment and accessories during use.
  • Ensure punctuality and adhere to call times, including readiness for setup and de-rig.
  • Perform duties safely and comply with health and safety requirements.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task within the scope of the job when requested.

What You’ll Bring to The Team:

  • Good knowledge of camera equipment and video broadcasting techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Computer literacy.
